QUAY CONSTRUCTION & MARINE LANDSCAPING

 DRAINAGE

PONDS, LAKES AND WATER MANAGEMENT

Water is an increasingly important issue, the need to conserve and protect our water resources is essential. together with water being one of the most important factor in sustainable ongoing land management, Cornwall Landscaping has developed its own systems as well as gained experience in most of the modern and traditional systems to provide a fully comprehensive range of services for garden and landowners.

QUAY CONSTRUCTION FROM AUGUST 2009

We are currently midway through 2 projects building private quays on the Fal estuary.

Dry stone construction of quays is a traditional skill and every single stone needs to be keyed in to ensure both the weight behind the quay, (when the pressure can be extreme following a high tide, the sodden backfill prsees against the back of the quay wall as the tide ebbs), and the force of wave and tidal action against the face in the worst of conditions.

The quay wall is topped using local granite and the finish of the backfill surface using a special blend of coastal flowers and grasses, an estuarine riparian blend. See also our blog on these builds on the

landscape juice network

The Finished Quay as seen from the water and made for less than £5000.00.
