More Stone Walling

We also do lots of remediation work on all sorts of different walls. Here you can see a wall that was badly damaged by a car and what we can do to repair it using only on site materials and a little cement.

We like to incorporate special features into the walls and structures. We have produced walls with internal chasms designed for Pipistrelle bats and timber fronted nestboxes for birds. We can also add benches, gateways and styles into stone walls.

For this particular wall, we have used traditional Cornish herringbone to finish the quoin of the wall, as well as incorporating a simple style and hazel bench.

Trevose Slate Formation, exposed at Gunver Head, Trevone. Much of our walling stone is sourced from quarries in this geological zone.

The geology of Cornwall is internationally significant and the underlying rocks were always used in the construction of the traditional stone walling. In recent history, many walls have been constructed throughout Cornwall, indeed throughout the South West UK, using stone brought in from long distances. We always try and source the correct stone, be it slate formation or granite from the most local quarry possible.

We use stone to create beautiful bespoke patterns that make every wall an individual design.
