ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT

'Sustainable Landscaping'

ensures that your land will be safeguarded for the use of future generations.

We at Cornwall Sustainable Landscapes believe in the use of sustainable techniques in order to provide a garden or estate with the desired landscape and planting, without damaging the environment and its potential. Indeed we have the skills to actually revert contaminated land back to a natural state, using recognised technology. Members of CSL have been responsible for the overseeing of the first organic golf course in the UK as well as winning awards for sustainable good practice for their clients.

To this end: We always attempt to recycle materials from site, all green waste is sent for compost manufacture, we will always source local materials where possible - if not we will source materials from sustainable resources, we will always try to ensure that habitat spaces are included into structures and we always work in a way to minimise emissions.

Permeable Surfacing

We are experienced in the use of most types of permeable surfacing. This cost effective and attractive alternative to tarmac, paving or concrete, can significantly reduce run off, minimising flood risk and allowing more available water uptake during periods of drought

 BIOREMEDIATION, PHYTOREMEDIATION and ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

Phytomediation, followed by bioremediation of the Cornish Concrete Products Factory at Bissoe. (In the background is the Remains of the Bissoe Arsenic Factory - one of the most contaminated sites in Europe.)

We have been responsible for a number of successful bespoke environmental enhancement operations including bank retention operations, unique systems for irrigation and water control and a wide range of council approved planting and phytoremediation schemes on contaminated sites. All these schemes have cost considerably below any alternative operations without any compromise, (indeed in most cases a more attractive finish).

 Environmental Engineering Operations:

EPV Erosion Preventative Vegetation suitable for all types of soil up to 60 degrees.

Green walling Planting using a grid system, with overlaying wooden or metal construction, (depending on slope and soils), to create an attractive vegetation covered wall alternative.

Saturation Drainage Drainage systems for poor, dry soils and steep slopes, designed to slow run off dramatically ensuring erosion prevention and nutrient capture.

Sump drains Designed to halt run off on more level areas, taking it to ground and allowing penetration into surrounding poor or clayey soils using mychorrizal technology.

Extensive research into phytoremediation and biomass production has enabled us to develop a system where landowners can not only remediate their land cheaply; but also gain an income from future cropping.

If your land has been identified as contaminated we can supply a range of very cost effective packages, which will save having to remove the soil. Average savings are 50% cost and up to 70% reduction in CO2 emissions.

Bunding techniques, erosion preventative measures, microbial treatments for hydrocarbon contamination and soil treatment with mycorriza based supersoils can all be used to create a site specific bioremediation package.
